Meet the team

"I helped set up a women's group in the village. The group raises a third of the cost of a water tank and Rainworks provides the rest. Every month each member of the group puts aside a few shillings from the sale of chickens. Once we have saved enough money we draw lots to decide who will get the next tank. Fifty families now have water tanks and we have helped women in the neighbouring village set up their own project with Rainworks."

"I drive Landcruisers and trucks for Kenya Wildlife Services and provide logistical support for Rainworks. I grew up in this area, my parents had a small farm nearby. It is good to see the local community organising themselves and the support they get from Rainworks means that they have water when and where they need it."

"I’m in charge of Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most popular safari parks. We provide the trucks to get the water tanks to the village. Community development projects are really important for Kenya Wildlife Services. We give our services free – when the community see they can benefit from the park, they appreciate it, and that means they will look after the animals and the park."

"We visited Nganyoi village the water project the women had set up with Rainworks and see the tanks. Now we have started our own group, and so far we have installed fifteen water tanks in our village. Now I have a water tank, I don’t have to spend hours walking to the river each day, and I have more time to work in my fields and look after my children."
